The requirements are:

Course Completion - earn a minimum of 21 credits in specific subjects; 

Show Competency - earn points on state tests, industry credentials and workforce readiness, or show college and career preparedness; 

Demonstrate Readiness - choose a Pathway and earn seals that allow students to demonstrate one or more of the following: academic and technical knowledge, professional skills, social and emotional competencies, or learner and reasoning skills.

Updated Honors Diploma

Criteria for Receiving an Academic Diploma with Honors for 2025:
Students must meet the same requirements established for the regular diploma PLUS all but one of the following criteria:

  • Mathematics 4 credits

  • Science 4 credits, including 2 credits of advanced science

  • Social Studies 4 credits

  • World Languages 3 credits of one world language, or no less than 2 credits of each of two world languages studies

  • Fine Arts 1 credit

  • GPA 3.5 on a 4.0 scale

  • ACT/SAT ACT: 27 or higher / SAT 1280 or higher

Criteria for Receiving a Career Tech Diploma with Honors:
Students must meet the same requirements established for the regular diploma PLUS all but one of the following criteria:

  • Mathematics 4 credits

  • Science 4 credits, including 2 credits of advanced science

  • Social Studies 4 credits

  • World Languages 2 credits of one world language

  • Electives 4 credits of career-technical courses

  • GPA 3.5 on a 4.0 scale

  • ACT/SAT/WorkKeys ACT: 27 or higher/SAT: 1280 or higher/WorkKeys: 6 or higher on Reading for Information and 6 or higher on Applied Mathematics

  • Field Experience

    • Complete a field experience and document the experience in a portfolio specific to the student’s area of focus.

  • Portfolio

    • Develop a comprehensive portfolio of work based on the student’s field experience or a topic that is related to the student’s area of focus.

  • Additional Assessments Earn an industry-recognized credential or achieve proficiency benchmark for appropriate Ohio Career-Technical Competency Assessment or equivalent.
