Mrs. Hoffmire's Sunshine Club recently visited and learned about another school employee and what they do at the school. They learned that Mr. Ron Burkholder mows the lawn, turns on the lights, makes sure the heater is working, and more. Thank you, Mr. Burkholder.

Today kicks off National School Bus Safety Week. We are so thankful for our awesome Pettisville Schools transportation staff! This week serves as a reminder to motorists, students, and school bus drivers of the important role they all have in ensuring children’s safety. This year’s theme is “BEEP! BEEP! School bus safety starts with me,” a reminder to both motorists and students about the dangers that exist outside the school bus. Thank you Gabe, Tammy, Kelly, Kenzie, Cindy, and all of our substitute drivers who keep our Blackbirds safe! Lastly, thanks to Mrs. Graber, our transportation coordinator! We appreciate you!

We heard you, Pettisville Community. If you recall, a Community Recreation survey was sent out at the end of the summer season. We asked you questions about the Community Recreation programming ranging from what works, what needs to be improved upon, and what those improvements should look like. We read your responses, and we realized it was time to change our programming model. We are excited to announce that we will be looking for a Baseball Programming Coordinator and a Softball Programming Coordinator. These coordinators will help to build programming from the ground up, starting with our tee ball Blackbirds. Our programmers will coordinate registration, and scheduling, develop practice plans for each age level, and run each practice. They will vet coaching volunteers, and work with spring coaches to create a consistent, common, on-the-field language, and work to create a playbook for Blackbird softball and baseball. They will be present and committed to growing the skills and love of the game for each Blackbird. Please visit our community rec webpage for further Baseball Programming Coordinator and Softball Programming Coordinator duties. https://www.pettisvilleschools.org/page/community-recreation Looking forward to a new era in Community Recreation!
