Yesterday there was quite the commotion in town. Despite a few fender-benders, missing hubcaps, drivers honking their horns, and a few wheels that fell off.... the Pettisville Kindergarteners & First-graders made it to the 6th-grade Drive-In Theatre with the help of their teachers and Officer Steve. The PES 'Seniors' nailed it with a ticket line, concession stand, and even a video with rules to start the show!
Talk about a fun collaboration!
Great job, PES teachers & students!

The Pettisville Community Recycling Center is managed by student volunteers as a service to the Pettisville community. For two decades, the Recycling Center has been a one-stop-shop for the community’s recycling needs, and has served as a great educational opportunity for our Blackbirds. While the majority of those who utilize the Recycling Center follow the posted guidelines regarding what can and can’t be recycled and/or dumped at the Recycling Center, our student workers have recently been confronted with many items that can’t and shouldn’t be discarded at the center. Items that have been dumped at the Recycling Center include, but are not limited to: area rugs, toilet seats, window shutters, yard art/decor, multiple varieties of glassware, fruit containers, laundry baskets, trash cans, takeout containers and more of the like. Additionally, a few weeks ago, the Fulton County Sheriff was contacted due to the disposing of illegal drugs and paraphernalia at the Recycling Center. While we would like to continue to offer the Pettisville Community Recycling Center as an educational opportunity for our students and a public service to our community, if we continue to experience high volumes of non-recyclable materials, we will be forced to reevaluate the future of this service. Thank you to the Pettisville community members who follow
the posted recycling guidelines. We will be commissioning new signage for the Pettisville Community Recycling Center in the near future. In the meantime, please see the graphic below for what can and can’t be taken to the Pettisville Community Recycling Center.
Josh Clark
Superintendent
